For anyone wondering where I am since the last post. A year has passed since I wrote my note....wait a sec, I sound too much like Sting......(ask your parents kids)
It's been a year of great change here at EVM Towers and one I have struggled to cope with. Sometimes it's best to just batten down the hatches and focus on what matters and what needs to be done rather that whitter away on line. Which incidently I see I have done since 2006. Cripes. I've also had issues with t'interweb access.
The Blog was started to chart the progress of my Mercians. Still as yet unblooded. Various projects were added and random real life chit thrown in the mix.
I continue to coach kids footbo. Two teams now as we have a lot of players in my age group. Last season we went within 20 seconds of a league and cup double. Yes 20 seconds away from a league title. Talks with Hollywood are ongoing and whenever Matt Damon is free we will discuss how he can best porrtay me. Still we bounced back and win the cup in a marvelous stylee. This season is going pretty well for both teams and we are all still smiling.
No matter how many people tell you, "you will be fine" or "you will find someone else" it doesn't make it any easier. The loss of your best friend is difficult, even worse... ah heck let's not go there. Details of my personal life since then whilst the source of much humour for those "in the know." They are best not divulged to the wider world. Needless to say it's a crazy world out there.
I was told I would find someone when I least expected it. Well that was easy enough.....oddly it does appear to be true. Early days yet, still plenty of time to mess things up. Even more odd I can't quite believe my luck. I took some convincing she was even interested but seems she is. Far too young, far too pretty but I am not complaining.
Wargaming? Oh yeah, well just a few games of 40k, Tom decided to go Necron and Jabba had a few Orksies last Xmas (no wait the one before that 2009) that we managed to get painted up. Nothing else really.
Painting? I did a bit, not much, the new life meant I needed a "regular" income. We survived, a few bits got done to the house, books balanced etc. I now work out of a new studio built in the garage. Still trying to get Jabba's own bedroom finished. Four months behind schedule as we speak.
Projects a plenty but little spare time. Weekends are taken up with football and swimming for the kids under the expert eye of the lovely Gemma.
Pips

Nice to see you back. Life does rather get in the way now and again doesn't it? Still withoout it we'd all be in a George A Romero movie.

Good to see you blogging again; appreciate that your 'sabbatical' year away has not been easy. I'm sure that, just like the mighty whites, the return of the good times is just around the corner in 2011.
Keep 'em coming...

Hard times. I lost my wife and son 4 and a half years ago. No platitudes can help but we (and you) will move on. Good luck and keep blogging!
